Facial Trauma

After a car accident or other incident resulting in facial trauma, you may need surgery to correct the damage. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are specially trained to perform these surgeries.

Some of the kinds of facial trauma that could require surgery include: facial lacerations, knocked out teeth, and breaks or fractures of the cheek, nose, jaw and eye socket. Most surgeries take place at a hospital or at an outpatient surgery center.
